During the 2023–2024 school year, while in 8th grade, Alexander Ramey and two classmates initiated a community service project called 'Literary Lift' to support local students. Through a successful fundraising campaign, the team facilitated a book donation drive that provided books, school supplies, and educational resources to students at Melrose Elementary in Miami, FL.

The book donation initiative at Melrose Elementary placed donated books directly into classrooms, ensuring they could have an immediate impact. By helping to build accessible classroom libraries, Literary Lift made certain that more students had the opportunity to discover books that inspired curiosity, supported learning, and fostered a lifelong love of reading.

With excess funds raised through our GoFundMe campaign, we purchased and distributed essential school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, folders, and markers to the students at Melrose Elementary. Through our efforts, which included a focus on book donation and initiatives like Literary Lift, we supported classrooms with these supplies, helping to create positive learning environments and ensuring that more students had the tools necessary to succeed.

Raised $1,711 through GoFundMe from 25 donors, established the project's first book donation bins, and distributed over 500 books and $1,500 in school supplies. This initiative proudly supported third-grade students at Melrose Elementary through our Literary Lift program.
